The program is fully conducted by Platinum rated PADI Course Director Holly Macleod who has a reputation for success and excellence having won Multiple Awards for her Instructor training programs. The course takes place at Trawangan Dive; the first ever established PADI 5 Star IDC Career Development Center (CDC) in the Gili Islands, Indonesia.
If joining the program it is highly recommended that
candidates take the pre-IDC preparation course which is basically designed to
review the skills and knowledge from the Divemaster Course. During the
preparation program candidates will review the 5 dive theory components which
are Physics, Physiology, Skills and Environment, RDP and Equipment. During the
preparation period candidates will also practice some confined water skills.
On the actual PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) candidates
will learn the entire PADI IDC syllabus and also some additional units designed
to make the best for their new career. The course will take place in the
Classroom, Confined Water (swimming pool) and Open Water.
During classroom sessions candidates will take part in a
series of presentations and workshops including Marketing, The 4 E’s Sales
Workshop, The Business of Diving, Risk Management, Diver Acquisition, Diver
Retention and a range of presentations on course conduct, covering the entire
range of PADI programs. During the classroom session’s candidates will also
prepare for the PADI Examinations by way of practice exams and review the PADI
Standards and Procedures that apply to each PADI program. Candidates will also
be evaluated on their individual knowledge Development Teaching Presentations.
Confined Water sessions are conducted in the onsite training
pool. A range of workshops are conducted in confined water including the
Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) Workshop, The Rescue Workshop, The Skill Circuit
Workshop and the Rescue Exercise 7 Practice. Also there will be many scheduled
Confined Water Presentation sessions whereby candidates will be assessed on
their individual confined water teaching presentations.
Open Water teaching presentations will be conducted on the purpose built training sites around the Gili Islands. During the Open Water Sessions candidates will take part in a variety of open water workshops including The CESA and Descent Workshops, Student Control, Rescue Workshops, additional Skills Workshops, The Adventures in Diving Workshop. Candidates will also present and conduct their Open Water Teaching Presentations whilst being evaluated by Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod. There will also be plenty of time in open water to practice and develop their Rescue Exercise demonstration and any other skills that candidates wish to work on.
