PADI IDC Gili Islands | Komodo Diving | Indonesia

Recently our PADI IDC team traveled from the Gili Islands to Labuan Bajo for a diving excursion. The Gili Islands offer some great dive sites and is a fantastic place to take a dive course, but Komodo National Park offers everything
Of course everybody wants to see Manta Ray and Indonesia has no shortage of these magnificent creatures. Manta Rays can be found in abundance in Komodo National Park. But it’s not just Manta Rays; a variety sharks, tuna, barracuda, sweetlips and sometimes other not so common species can be found swimming around alongside the rays. As well as the larger species passing by, there is an abundance of reef dwellers living amongst pristine coral reefs. Amongst the coral reef the usual suspects can be found including octopus, cuttlefish, blue spotted rays, ribbon eels, moray eels, sweetlips, grouper, mantis shrimp and anemone fish.

As well as the larger species and reef inhabitants the are also many macro sites offering some amazing creatures including frogfish, flatworms, a huge variety of pipefish, multiple species of nudibranchs, many types of crab and leaf fish.

In general Komodo National Park offers some of the best diving conditions available. Amongst the strong turbulent currents you will find nutrient rich pristine coral reef formations which attract a huge array of marine life. It is usually suggested that divers are at least an Advanced level certification with some diving experience.

So Komodo is the perfect place to dive, whereas the Gili Islands are the perfect place to take dive training of all levels from entry level to instructor. The PADI IDCIndonesia program offers the very best of PADI Instructor level training available. To see last years graduates check out the PADI IDC Gili Islands Slideshow.
